This is a valuable site for teachers, with information on cultural events
in Germany, articles of interest and a links page which is changed monthly.
There is an excellent page on history ,"Zeitgeschehen 1900-2000", which
lists the key dates and events in German history. Just click on the date
for an easy to read guide to that event. Topics include a the beginning
of the first World War and the fall of the Wall. There is also a list
of useful addresses for possible sources of information and with tips
on how to use the material and the technical drawbacks. The site is arranged
by language then by category.

A vast range of resources is on offer here, with information about
the Goethe Institute and what it can offer, links to individual
institute sites worldwide and a catalogue of resources are available.
There are also two very useful sections of for the teaching and
learning of German. "Angebote für LehrerInnen" contains information
on the "neue Rechtschreibung", tips for finding materials, and a
"Partnerschaft" page, giving you the chance to find an on-line partner
school. The "Angebote für LehrerInnen" offers an on-line magazine
(Jetzt), a page on "das alltagsleben in Deutschland", tips for learning
German and a vast list of the site links. Well worth a visit.

students, each edition containing reading exercises, a listening
tape and useful glossaries to improve your German in many areas.

The the on-line version of the magazine gives background information
to current articles and an archive facility for backdated issues.
There it is also a penpal page, for both it e-mail and a letter
based contact. The site is aimed at young people, with modern graphics
and the trendy image.
